Overview: What are we talking about?
In Gingr, you'll have access to a personalized notifications page to stay updated on actions performed by pet parents and staff users. The types of notifications that you will receive are customizable, and can include actions like new reservation requests, canceled reservations, waitlist openings, and more!
Gingr offers a mobile app for iOS and Android for users to receive their Gingr Notifications to their mobile devices and utilize push notifications.
At this time, the Gingr Notifications mobile app is only available in the US and Canada.

How to: Enable Push Notifications on a Mobile Device
Gingr offers a mobile application that allows users to receive Push Notifications on a mobile device. These notifications come in real-time and are pushed directly to your phone for quick updates.
To use this feature, your user group must have the Receive Push Notifications Permission enabled from Left-hand Navigation: Reports and More Icon » Groups.
How to: Download the App
- On your mobile device, open the App Store (Mac) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Search for Gingr Notifications and download the application to your device.
- Once the download is complete, open the application. You'll be prompted to enter your login information. Your Subdomain is your Gingr URL, for example, if your URL is "http://happywagsco.gingrapp.com", then you will input "happywagsco.gingrapp.com" in the Gingr Subdomain field. Then, enter the email address and password you use to log into your regular Gingr application.
- Upon login, you'll receive a pop-up asking if you want to receive Push notifications from this application on your device. Click Yes on that pop-up to proceed:
How to: Manage Notifications
- Once logged in, you'll see a list of your unread notifications and several actions available to you:
- Clicking on a notification will open the notification details, and allow you to click to open the request on your Gingr Dashboard in a mobile browser, or leave comments.
- Checking the box next to an unread notification will mark it as read.
- You can click the COMPLETED tab to view past notifications.
- When a new notification comes in, you'll also see it on your phone's lock screen:
How to: Bulk Upload Photos for Report Cards
The Gingr Notifications mobile app can be utilized to Bulk Upload photos to be assigned to report cards. Note: The Group Permission "Can Access API" is required to be enabled for your user group in order to utilize this feature.
- Tap on the "Upload Photos and Videos" card. Depending on what permissions you've given the Gingr Notifications app on your device, you may be asked to give access to your photos. You can either choose to allow access to all or allow access to selected photos. If given access to selected photos, you will be able to update this each time you go to this screen.
- Select the photos and videos you would like to upload. Once you've made your selection, you can tap the "Upload X" to start the upload process.
- Once the upload is complete, a success message will display. From here, you can tap to Go Home on the app, or "Go to Gingr" to open your mobile browser to the business portal.
- Once photos and videos have been uploaded, you will be able to assign them to Report Cards for pets that are currently checked in. For more information on Bulk Photo Upload, check out our article here: Bulk Photo Upload.
How to: Utilize Time Clock as an Admin
Note: The ability to clock in using the Gingr Notifications app is only available for users in the Admin User Group.
- Tap on the Time Clock card.
- The first this feature is utilized on your mobile device, you will be able to designate it as a trusted device used for clocking in and out.
- If your facility utilizes taking a photo of the user when clocking in, you can allow or disallow this function on your device.
- Select your location and name the device you are using. For example "Jane Smith's iPhone".
- Once you've selected your location and named your device, select "Set Up Time Clock".
- Select your user from the drop-down menu and enter your password to clock in.
- Select the Team to clock in for.
- If utilizing taking a photo, a photo will be taken and saved with your time lock entry.
- You will see a success message when the user is successfully clocked in.
