Create Activity Package as an Additional Service (How-To)

Activity packages in Gingr are considered a service that automatically comes with a set of other services. For example, a boarding activity package that may come with a walk, treat, and private play time.

Gingr commonly sets up activity packages as additional services with service options attached to them. In these cases, service options are defaulted to be included on the additional service.

Create Activity Package as an Additional Service

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Reservation Types and Services Configuration.

  2. Select the Booking Category for the reservation type that the service will be added to.

  3. Find the Reservation Type that you want to attach the service to.

  4. Click on the blue Manage Services button.

  5. Select Create a new Additional Service

    Tip:  If you have already created a service for another reservation type, you can add that same additional service to this reservation type by selecting from the list above. This will attach that additional service and all of its settings to allow it to be scheduled with Daycare.


  6. Fill out the following settings for this service:

    • Name: Enter the name of this service.

    • Allowed Locations

    • Description: Input the description of this service type as you would want to brand or describe it to your customers.

    • Apply Tax: Set to yes if this service should have tax charged.

    • Is this service scheduled?: Set to yes if this service is scheduled at a specific date, time, or specific person.

      • If you set this setting to yes, then also set the following:

        • Duration: the average duration of this service (if the duration varies, set the most common duration). Enter this number in minutes.

        • Interval: set the interval of time that you want this to be scheduled. For example, an interval of 30 minutes would allow a service to be scheduled at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, etc.

        • Default Start Time: In military time, set the earliest possible time that this service can be scheduled.

    • Frequency Options: Add any needed frequency options for this service.

      • Frequency options allow a service to be scheduled at the selected frequency. For example, a frequency option of “every day” would automatically schedule that service for every day of the reservation.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Tag this additional service to any other reservation types that it should be an option for.

  9. Repeat for any other additional services you need to create.
