Overview: What are we talking about?
In this article, we will discuss how to sign up for, set up, and use the integrated fax feature in Gingr. This feature allows you to use a custom fax number to receive faxes directly in Gingr from people like your pet parents or veterinarians. By directly connecting to Gingr, you can easily assign faxed files to the pet parent's account that it belongs with.
Helpful Hints: Before you get started.
This feature is an integration with Gingr which allows you to select a local phone number to receive faxes directly into your Gingr app.
This feature is available for $100/year.
Set it Up: Set up a custom fax number.
Existing Customers
- The customer can begin setup of their custom fax number by going to Left Navigation: Admin » Manage Gingr Subscriptions. From here, they can choose the custom fax number option.
Note: Choosing "subscribe now" will automatically generate their Stripe subscription information and will take them to the number selection page. - Upon clicking subscribe, you will be presented with a screen to search and select a number to use.
Note: You can search for a local number from this screen. You can use the * character as a "wildcard". For example, to search for a phone number in the 303 area code, you would enter 303*******. To search for a phone number in the 303 area code with a 309 prefix, you would enter 303309****.
Click Search to generate a list of available phone numbers.
Important! Carefully select your phone number as this is the phone number that you can provide to pet parents and veterinarians to fax files directly to your Gingr app. - Done! You will now receive faxed files that are sent to this number directly in your Gingr app.
New Customers
- At the time of sign up, you will be presented with features to add to your Gingr app. From this screen, you can select the "Send/Receive Faxes" option from the subscription add-ons page. The cost for this feature will be billed using the same payment method as your app's subscription.
- Once your app has been created, you will be able to navigate to the Left Navigation: Admin » Manage Gingr Subscriptions.
From here, you will see a green "Click Here to Configure" button alongside the Custom Fax Number option.
Note: You must complete this step to fully enable this feature. - Upon clicking to configure your fax number, you will be presented with a screen to search and select a number to use.

How to: View and assign files that are faxed to you in Gingr.
Any files that are faxed to you using the number that you have set up will appear in the Files Report in Gingr.
To access this report, you will go to the Left Navigation: Reports and More » Files Report. You can run the report for a date range to show any files sent to you within that date range.
From the Files report, you can download or view the file, make it assign an owner to the file, and more.
Important! Assigning an owner to a file allows you to view that file from the owner's details page as well as from the animal's immunization management page.
How to: Send Faxes in Gingr
Navigate to Reports & More » Send Fax.
