Overview: What are we talking about?
If you ever charge/discount for pets who check in or out before or after a certain time of day, Gingr can automate that based on when you check the pet out in Gingr. This allows you to save time with one less thing to remember to add or keep track of.
Helpful Hints: Before you begin.
- Before you get started, it is important to understand how your business charges these types of fees (if at all). The three most common examples are:
- Flat fee/percentage for checking out after a specific time of day (regardless of day of week).
- Stacked fee/percentage for checking out a certain amount of time after a set time of day (recurring fee).
- Checking out after your facilities set pick-up times (hours of operation).
- Flat fee/percentage for checking out after a specific time of day (regardless of day of week).
- Before beginning, think about if your facility fits into one of these three categories by reading more about them below. If your facility’s after-hours fee structure does not fit into the setup below or you are unsure, then please reach out to your onboarding specialist.
- These types of rules are dependent on your hours of operation being configured in Gingr. You will set your hours of operation up later in the onboarding process.
Set it Up: Let's get started.
Example: A $10.00 fee is assessed when checking in or out before/after a business’s pick up and drop off times. There is a 15 minute grace period.
- Identify the pattern in how you charge your after-hours fees.
- Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Pricing Rules.
- Choose your Location and the first boarding Reservation Type that you want to create these after-hours fees for.
- Configure the following fields for each of the pricing rules needed:
- Label: Name the rule as you want it to appear on estimates, the shopping cart, and receipts (e.g. After Hours Check Out, After Hours Check-In).
- Type: Select each of the following rule types for the 4 rules:
- Check In Before (Hours of Operation)
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks in before your drop off time.
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks in before your drop off time.
- Check In After (Hours of Operation)
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks in after your drop off time.
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks in after your drop off time.
- Check Out Before (Hours of Operation)
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks out before your drop off time.
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks out before your drop off time.
- Check Out After (Hours of Operation)
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks out after your drop off time.
- You will want this rule type if you charge a fee if a pet checks out after your drop off time.
- Check In Before (Hours of Operation)
- Value: In minutes, enter the grace period for this rule to apply. (e.g. if pick up time is at 7 pm but you offer a 15 minute grace period, then you would enter “15” here).
- Method: Choose dollar or percentage to charge the customer (based on your policy)
- Amount: Enter the total charge amount that you want to charge the customer.
- If it is a discount, enter the number as a negative amount (-00.00).
- If it is a discount, enter the number as a negative amount (-00.00).
- Label: Name the rule as you want it to appear on estimates, the shopping cart, and receipts (e.g. After Hours Check Out, After Hours Check-In).
- Save your pricing rules.
- Repeat the process of adding this rule for any other boarding reservation types.
