Set Up Grooming Add-Ons

Overview: What are we talking about?

This article will describe how to set up your grooming service add-ons.

Helpful Hints: Before you begin.

• By now, you should have set up both your grooming reservation type and your top-level grooming services.
  
  
• In Gingr, Additional Services are top-level grooming services (for example, Full Groom, Mini Groom, Bath & Brush, etc.) and Service Options are add-on services (for example, Nail Trim, Ear Cleaning, Gland Expression, Teeth Brushing, etc.).
  
  
• As an example, a customer might schedule a “Grooming” reservation for a “Bath & Brush” service and choose to add a “Nail Dremel” to the Bath & Brush.
  
  
• If you have not, take a moment to list out the grooming add ons you offer and determine which additional services they should be an option for. You will generally create a service option for something that is not already included in the top-level service.

Set it Up: Let's get started.

Step 1: Set up service options

1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Reservation Types and Services Configuration and locate the grooming service that you want to create an add-on for. These will be under the Grooming booking category. 
   
   
   
   
2. Click Manage Options within the grooming service and then select "Create a new Service Option" - configure the following fields for your add-ons:
   
   
   
   
   
   
   • Name: Enter the name of this grooming add-on.
     
     
   • Description: Input the description of this service add-on as you would want to brand or describe it to your customers.
     
     
   • Apply Tax: Set to yes if this service should have tax charged.
     
     
   • Include in Commission: Set to yes if the add-ons cost should be included in a commission calculation for the person who performs the service.
     
     
3. Save your changes by clicking  on the blue Create button.
   
   
4. Tag this add-on to any other additional services that it applies to.
   
   
5. Repeat for any other grooming add-ons you offer. 

Step 2: Set the rate for your new grooming service option add-ons

1. From your grooming reservation type, click the rates button next to the Grooming reservation type’s name.
   
   
2. Choose your location.
   
   
   • If you have more than one location, you’ll want to set the rate for your add-on options at any of the locations that you offer those add ons.
     
     
3. Click the Additional Services tab.
   
   
4. Set the base rate for the add ons attached to this reservation type. Any variably priced services should be left at $00.00.
   
   
5. Save your rates.
