Overview: What are we talking about?
This article will describe how activity packages are commonly set up in Gingr.
Helpful Hints: Before you begin.
- Activity packages in Gingr are considered a service that automatically comes with a set of other services. For example, a boarding activity package that may come with a walk, treat, and private play time.
- Gingr commonly sets up activity packages as additional services with service options attached to them. In these cases, service options are defaulted to be included on the additional service.
- This article will describe the process of creating an additional service with service options that are defaulted on; however, if you have any questions about how to integrate your activity packages in Gingr, then reach out to your onboarding specialist.
Set it Up: Let's get started
Step 1: Create the activity package as an additional service
- Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Reservation Types and Services Configuration.
- Select the Booking Category for the reservation type that the service will be added to
- Find the Reservation Type that you want to attach the service to.
- Click on the blue "Manage Services" button and then click "Create a new Additional Service"
- If you have already created a service for another reservation type, you can add that same additional service to this reservation type by selecting from the list above. This will attach that additional service and all of its settings to allow it to be scheduled with Daycare.

- Fill out the following settings for this service:
- Name: Enter the name of this service.
- Allowed Locations:
- Description: Input the description of this service type as you would want to brand or describe it to your customers.
- Apply Tax: Set to yes if this service should have tax charged.
- Is this service scheduled?: Set to yes if this service is scheduled at a specific date, time, or specific person.
- If you set this setting to yes, then also set the following:
- Duration: the average duration of this service (if the duration varies, set the most common duration). Enter this number in minutes.
- Interval: set the interval of time that you want this to be scheduled. For example, an interval of 30 minutes would allow a service to be scheduled at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, etc.
- Default Start Time: In military time, set the earliest possible time that this service can be scheduled.
- Duration: the average duration of this service (if the duration varies, set the most common duration). Enter this number in minutes.
- Frequency Options: Add any needed frequency options for this service.
- Frequency options allow a service to be scheduled at the selected frequency. For example, a frequency option of “every day” would automatically schedule that service for every day of the reservation.

- Name: Enter the name of this service.

- Click Save.
- Tag this additional service to any other reservation types that it should be an option for.
- Repeat for any other additional services you need to create.
Step 2: Set up service options for the activity package .
- Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Reservation Types and Services Configuration and locate the additional service that you want to create an add-on for.
- If you just completed step one, then simply find the additional service that you just created.

- Click Manage Options > Create new service options within the additional service you created an addon for and configure the following fields:
- Name: Enter the name of this add-on.
- You will only need to create a given add-on option one time. After it has been created once, it can be tagged to other additional services that it should also be an option for.

- Allowed Locations: Select which location(s) this service option can be added for.
- Description: Input the description of this service add-on as you would want to brand or describe it to your customers.
- Name: Enter the name of this add-on.
- Save your changes.
- Select the Default Options and add this service option to be a default service of your activity package
- This ensures that any time this additional service is created, this addon is always included.

- Repeat for any other add-ons that come with this activity package.
Step 3: Set the rate for your new activity package
- From the reservation type that the activity package is attached to, click the “rates” button next to the reservation type’s label.
- Choose your location.
- If you have more than one location, you’ll want to set the rate for your additional services at any of the locations that you offer those services.

- Click the Additional Services tab.
- Set the base rate for the activity package attached to this reservation type.
- Save your rates.
