Setting Up Employee Timeclock

Overview: What are we talking about?

In Gingr, your staff can clock in and out. Time punches using the time clock are authenticated by having the employee enter their password and (optionally) taking a photo of them the moment they check in. Time clock data can also be accessed from the time clock report where you can review timecards and easily see if someone worked longer than their scheduled shift.

Helpful Hints: Before you begin.

  • This article will cover how to enable the time clock and configure time clock related settings.

  • The ability to compare time punches with scheduled shifts requires the employee scheduling add-on to be enabled in your app. To sign up for employee scheduling for $15/month, go to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Manage Gingr Subscription and select Employee Scheduling.

  • Once set up, employees will be able to click the dot in the top-right of the menu bar to clock in and out.

Set it Up: Let's get started.

We will only be covering the settings that you should configure for this topic. If you see a setting that is not listed, please leave it set to its default setting.

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Timeclock.

    • Use Time Clock: Set to yes to enable the time clock.

    • Allow Time Clock Cross Days: Set to yes if you want to allow employees to remain clocked in across calendar dates (overnight).

    • Only Allow Time Clock at This IP: Optionally enter your facility’s IP address to ensure that employees can only clock in or out when at your facility and connected to the facility’s WiFi network.

      • To find out what your IP address is, simply Google “What is my IP address” when connected to your facility’s WiFi network and input the result that Google gives you at the top of the page.
