Overview: What are we talking about?

In Gingr, you can schedule your staff for the shifts or types of work that they are scheduled for during the week. This allows you to easily keep all of your schedules within one place and can offer you statistics that only Gingr can provide you to help guide your labor scheduling decisions. This is an add-on subscription for only $15/month.

Helpful Hints:
Before you begin.

  • Before you get started, ensure that you have enabled this add-on for your app if it is a feature that you would like to use.

  • If you did not sign up for employee scheduling in Gingr, then you can enable it directly within your app.

  • Sign up for employee scheduling for $15/month by going to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Manage Gingr Subscription and select Employee Scheduling.

Set it Up: Let's get started.

We will only be covering the settings that you should configure for this topic. If you see a setting that is not listed, please leave it set to its default setting.

Step 1: Create Teams

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Reports & More » Manage Schedules.

  2. Click Manage Teams in the top right-hand area of the screen.

  3. Add a team and configure the following settings:

    • Team: Name the team for whatever type of shift you will end up scheduling. For example, “Front Desk”.

    • Color: Assign the team a color.

      • The color is how the shift will appear on the schedule. Consider color coding your shifts based on the type of work.

  4. Repeat to create as many teams as you need.

  5. Save your changes.

Step 2: Schedule Shifts

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Reports & More » Manage Schedules.

    • You’re already on this page if you just completed step 1 above.

  2. Add an employee by clicking the + button under the Employee column, selecting an employee, and clicking save.

  3. Add a shift for an employee by clicking the + button under the date that you want to create a shift for.

  4. Select Employee Shift.

  5. Select the team that the employee should be working that day and configure the following fields:

    • Start Time: Enter the starting time of the shift.

    • End Time: Enter the ending time of the shift.

    • Repeating: Choose whether this shift should recur every week on this day of the week.

    • Repeats Until: Optionally choose a date when this recurring shift should stop recurring for this day of the week.

      • The shift you are creating must be set to be recurring before using this field. If you leave this field blank for a recurring shift, then it will recur indefinitely.

  6. Save the shift.

  7. Repeat creating shifts for any other teams, days, and employees.
