Overview: What are we talking about?

This article will describe how to customize the templates for your automated email communications.

Helpful Hints: Before you begin.

  • In Gingr, there are several types of automated communications from reminders, to receipts, and more. You can customize which messages are sent by Gingr and what they say.

  • Templates can use {variables} to fill in customized information into an email so that it feels more personal to your customers. Every template will contain a list of variables that you can use at the top of the page.

  • Before we get started, take some time to think about how you want to brand your messaging to your customers so that you can apply that to the different types of templates available for automated messages.

Set it Up: Let's get started. 

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Email Templates.

  2. Edit the first template and configure the following fields:

    • Subject: Optionally change the subject of the email template to say what you would like.

    • Value: Optionally change the body of the email template to say what you would like.

    • Action URL Text: Enter the text that you want to display in place of the {action_url}

      • Different templates have different functions for the {action_url} button. If you are using the {action_url} variable in the body of your email template, then your template will replace {action_url} with a button that has text. The button will take the customer to a specific place in the customer portal (depending on the template).

    • Reservation Types: Select the reservation types that you want this template to send for.

      • Not all templates have this field, but those that do require at least one reservation type to be selected in order to be sent at all.

  3. Save your changes and go back one page.

  4. Repeat for any other templates you would like to edit.
