Overview: 

If you ever charge for pets who check out late or discount for pets who check in after a certain time of day, Gingr can automate that based on system check-in/out timestamps on that pet's reservation. This allows you to save a lot of time with one less thing to calculate at check out.

Types of Check-In/Out Rules: 

 

Type Description Helpful Hints
Check Out Time After Check-In Time This rule is triggered if a pet checks out after the original check-in time.  Example: Charging a half-day of daycare if a reservation checks out 60 or more minutes after the original check-in time.  
Check In/Out Before  This rule is triggered if a pet checks in/out before a set time.  Example: If a pet checks in/out before 6:00 am there is a $5 fee.
Check In/Out After  This rule is triggered if a pet checks in/out after a set time Example: If a pet checks in/out after 7:00 pm there is a $5 fee.
Check In/Out Before (Hours of Operation) This rule is triggered if a pet checks in/out X amount of minutes before the facility hours of operation. 

Example: If a pet checks in/out 5 minutes or more before the facility opens there is a $5 fee

This rule type will reference disabled dates, specific date hours,and recurring hours. If none of these apply, this rule type then defaults to referencing system wide settings.

Create a Check-In/Out Pricing Rule :

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Pricing Rules.
  2. Select the Location and Reservation Type that you want this rule to apply to.
  3. Create a new pricing rule group to tell the system when you would like pricing to take effect. Or select an existing pricing rule group.
  4. Click Add Rule to create a new charge/discount.

Value The value determines when this rule will be triggered.

Method Select Dollar, Percentage, or reservation type If the fee is a half or full day of daycare, select reservation type as the method and then select the reservation type to charge under the Amount dropdown.
Amount Enter the fee to charge the customer per pet.  
 


Check-In/Out Pricing Rule Values:


The value determines when this rule will be triggered. How values are entered vary based on the rule type selected. 

Type Values Helpful Hints
Check Out Time After Check-In Time Minutes Example: Enter 60 if charging a half-day of daycare if a reservation checks out 60 or more minutes after the original check-in time.  
Check-In/Out Before  Military Time Example: Enter 0600 if a pet checks in/out before 6:00 am and there is a $5 fee.

Examples:

Example 1: Check Out Time After Check In Time 
 
A facility charges Boarding pets a half-day of daycare fee whenever they check out more than 15 minutes past their original check-in time on the last day of their reservation. 
 
Fee 1: Charge Daycare | Half-Day if pet checks out 15 or more minutes from their check-in time
Fee 2: Charge Daycare | Full-Day if pet checks out 5 or more hours (300 minutes) from their check-in time

Example 2: Check-In Before 
 
A facility charges $5 per pet if their reservation is checked in before 6:00 am.

Example 3: Check Out After
 
A facility charges $5 per pet if their reservation is checked out after 5:00 pm

A facility charges $5.00 per hour if a pet is checked out after 5:00 pm.

Example 4: Check Out Before (Hours of Operation)

A facility charges $15.00 if a reservation is checked out 15 or more minutes before the set hours of operation.
