Overview: What are we talking about?

Feeding Settings allow you to customize your Feeding Reports and the information contained therein, such as schedule times, amounts, and food types. In this article you will learn how to set up Feeding Schedules, Amounts, Units, Methods, Report Statuses, and Types; and how to configure related system settings.

Helpful Hints: Before you get started.

  • You must be in the Admin user group to configure Feeding Settings.

  • These settings will appear both on the employee and customer side of Gingr.

 

Set it Up: Feeding Settings.

Feeding Schedules

These are the names of your facility's feeding times (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner). These feeding schedules will be presented as options when you or a customer edits an animal. Animals may be assigned more than 1 feeding schedule, or none at all. To set these up:

 

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Feeding. 
     
  2. Click Add Feeding Schedule.

  3. Enter a Time period. For example AM, Noon, or PM, or Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

  4. Click Save.

  5. If you have additional Feeding Schedules, click Save And Add Another.

 

 

Feeding Quantities

These are the amounts of food that can be selected in the drop down menu. For example, if you wanted to be able to select 1/4 cup, the Quantity would be 1/4. We will set up "cups" later.

 

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Feeding. 

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter QuantityYou may enter anything you wish, including words or phrases.

    • For occasions where a pet will eat different amounts at different feeding times, a "see notes" feeding amount can be helpful. Then the feeding instructions will be typed into the feeding notes.


  4. Click Save.

  5. If you have additional Feeding Schedules, click Save And Add Another.

 

 

Feeding Units

These are the units of measure that the feeding amounts refer to, such as "cups" or "scoops"

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Feeding Units.
     
  2. Click Add

  3. Enter a Unit: This can be any unit of measure you wish to use.

  4. Click Save.

  5. If you have additional Feeding Schedules, click Save And Add Another.

 

 

Feeding Methods

This allows you to optionally create different designations for how animals should be fed, similar to special instructions. 

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Feeding. 

  2. Click Add

  3. Enter the Method. For example: "alone," "with housemates," "monitor." (Only one may be selected per animal.)

  4. Click Save.

  5. If you have additional Feeding Schedules, click Save And Add Another.

 

Feeding Types

This allows you to optionally set up the types of food animals may have. *Important* You must have a "code" entered for each type in order to allow selection of that type. 

 

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Feeding.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter a short Code for each feeding type.

  4. Enter a Name for each feeding type. For example: "Taste of the Wild" or "House Brand" or "Owner Provided."

  5. Indicate whether this feeding type should carry a Charge for Administration. This setting is related to the pricing Rules "Feeding (per administration)" and "Feeding (Daily Charge)".

    • If you have set up one of these pricing rules, toggling this setting on here will create a charge when the administration of this type is recorded on a feeding report

  6. Click Save.

  7. If you have additional Feeding Schedules, click Save And Add Another.

 

Feeding Statuses

Statuses refer to the status of each specific feeding, whether it's been prepared, distributed to the animal, eaten, not eaten, etc. 

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Feeding.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter a new Status.

  4. Indicate whether this feeding type should carry a Charge for Administration. This setting is related to the pricing Rules "Feeding (per administration)" and "Feeding (Daily Charge)".

    • If you have set up one of these pricing rules, toggling this setting on here will create a charge when the administration of this type is recorded on a feeding report

  5. Click Save.

  6. If you have additional Feeding Schedules, click Save And Add Another.

 

 
Settings
 
System-Wide Settings:
Setting Category » Page Description Helpful Hint
Show feeding report on report card Admin » Report Card Settings  If set to 'yes/on' the information entered for a pet on the feeding report will show up on the pet's report card. Only if a report card is created.
Show feeding instructions on run card Admin » Run Card Settings If set to 'yes/on' the pet's feeding instructions will appear on their run card. When a run card is printed.
Show feeding chart on run card  Admin » Run Card Settings If set to 'yes/on', the pet's feeding chart will show up on their run card. When a run card is printed.
 
 
 
Reservation Type Settings: 
On the feeding report, you have the option to select one or more specific reservation type or type(s) at a time. To include a reservation type on this list, you must turn the setting on by going to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Reservation Types and Services Configuration. 


Click on the booking category of the reservation type that you need to enable this for > click on the reservation type > click 'Edit Settings' > click into 'Check-In Options' > enable "Show bookings of this type on the feeding report?"
