Overview: What are we talking about?
If you offer a discount for extended boarding stays, you can use the Units of Reservation rule type to discount each day of a reservation once a specified amount of days has passed. A unit of a reservation is a night, day, or hour of a reservation, depending on whether you charge by the night, day, or hour for that reservation type.
Important! Since Gingr creates a reservation for each animal (instead of a family), Pricing rules will discount or surcharge each animal the same amount.
Set it Up: Let's get started.
Creating an Extended Stay Discount
- Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Pricing Rules.
- Select the Location and Reservation Type that you want this rule to apply to.
- Click Add Rule to create a new discount.
Example:
In this example, we will discount each animal 10% per night of their reservation once they have reached 10 nights. Then, we will tell the system to increase the discount for each animal to 20% per night of their reservation once they hit 20 nights.
Label | Type | Value | Method | Amount |
10+ Nights | Units of Reservation | 10 | Percent | -10 |
20+ Nights | Units of Reservation | 20 | Percent | -20 |
Test Your Rule
To test the extended stay discount, create a new reservation request for the reservation type you have just created the rule for selecting the number of days that would trigger the extended stay discount.
