Set it Up: Let's get started.
Step 1: Set Up Medication Types

Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Medication.
- Go to the Medication Type section. Click + Add to create a new medication type or click the pencil icon to edit an existing medication type.
- Select Yes/On for the Charge for Administration setting.
- You can optionally toggle any feeding status to Charge for Administration by toggling this setting to Yes/On.
Medication Report Statuses:

Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Medication.
- Go to the Medication Report Statuses section. Click + Add to create a new medication report status or click the pencil icon to edit an existing medication report status.
- You can then determine which status will implement the charges:
Step 2: Create Pricing Rule

Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Pricing Rules.
- Choose the Location and Reservation Type that you would like for this medication rule to apply to.
- Click Add Rule, and create the rule based on the Field Guide below, and click Save
Example:
Let's say that you charge $5 for every time you have to administer medication.

You could also set it up to charge per day, rather than per administration.

Step 3: Marking Medication as Administered
Now that you've set-up the Medication Types, Medication Report Statuses, and Pricing rules in order for the charges to apply, you must mark them accordingly in the Medication Report.

Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Reports & More » Reports » Medication Report.
- Locate the pet you would like to mark accordingly and select administration (Medication Report Status):

You can also mark Medication as administered from the Reservation Details page for the pets reservation:
Medication Charges in Action
The system will now calculate medication charges based on the animal's medication schedule and display as a line item in estimates, receipts, and in the cart:
