Overview: What are we talking about?

Within Gingr, you may optionally charge per feeding administration or per day using Pricing Rules. Feeding charges will be applied when the Feeding Report is updated to reflect the administration.

Helpful Hints

  • Before you get started, it is important to stop and understand how you charge for feeding (if at all). Do you charge differently depending on what the animal was fed? Do you charge per meal or per day? Do you charge for certain types of food?

  • Gingr can automate single rate feeding charges. If you charge different amounts, then please reach out to your onboarding specialist to discuss the best way to integrate your feeding charges in Gingr.

  • To automate feeding charges, we will create feeding types, feeding report statuses, and pricing rules to tell Gingr what kind of food should be charged and what statuses should be charged (e.g. marking a meal as “ate all” versus “N/A”)

  • You must have all feeding schedule sections (schedule, type, method, and status) filled out on a pet's profile in order for charges to incur

Set it Up: Let's get started.

Step 1: Setup Feeding Types and Feeding Report Statuses

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Feeding.

  2. Go to the Feeding Type section. Click + Add to create a new feeding type or click the pencil icon to edit an existing feeding type.

Step 2: Create Pricing Rule

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Pricing Rules.

  2. Choose the Location and Reservation Type that you would like for this medication rule to apply to.

  3. Click Add Rule, and create the rule based on the Field Guide below, and click Save.

Example:

Let's say that you charge $5 for every meal that an animal is fed during the day.

Label Type Value Method Amount
House Food Feeding (Per Administration) N/A Dollar 5.00

You could also set it up to charge per day, rather than per administration.

Label Type Value Method Amount
House Food Feeding (Per Day) N/A Dollar 5.00

Step 3: Marking Feeding as Administered

Now that you've set-up the Feeding Types, Feeding Report Statuses and Pricing rules in order for the charges to apply, you must mark them accordingly in the Feeding Report.

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Reports & More » Reports » Feeding Report.

  2. Locate the pet you would like to mark accordingly and select administration (Feeding Report Status):

Feeding Charges in Action

The system will now calculate feeding charges based on the animal's feeding schedule and display as a line item in estimates, receipts, and in the cart.
