Overview: What are we talking about?

In this article, we will discuss how to set up, navigate, and customize the new owner, animal, and reservation details views. By the end of this article, you should understand how to access details for any owner, animal, and reservation, how to change your views, and how to customize your own layouts.

This article includes:

Helpful Hints: Before you begin.

  • Before beginning, it is helpful to understand that the new owner, animal, and reservation details view is designed to give you all of the information you need in one spot, without forcing you to lose your place. This means you can access owner, animal, and reservation details to bring up this new page and, when you exit, you’ll be right where you left off.

  • It is also important to understand that views are customizable. You can create different views for the different types of work you do so that the information you need is front and center. You can also customize how your information is displayed depending on the device that you are using.

Set it Up: Let's get started.

Enabling the Owner, Animal, and Reservation Details View

Accessing owner, animal, and reservation information is just as easy as before; however, to access this new view, you will need to enable it and configure group permissions.

To enable this new view, the setting for Show New Details Pages under Left-Hand Navigation: Admin » Gingr Admin Settings will need to be turned on. This Admin page is only accessible by Gingr Support and will need to be activated by one of the Support Agents.

Step 2: Group Permissions

To configure these group permissions, go to Left-Hand Navigation: Reports & More » Groups and configure the following group permissions for those user groups which you want to have that ability.

Important! The layout labeled Default cannot be edited by any user.

When using the new Owner, Animal, and Reservation Details view, there are several elements to take advantage of on the page.

Headers:

When opening an owner, animal, or reservation, you will notice expandable headers at the top of the window. These headers give you a bird’s eye view of the entire family including the owner name, animal names and icons, and reservations that you have opened.

Different Types of content are indicated in the follow ways:

  1. Owners are indicated by a blue header

  2. Animals are indicated by a green header,

  3. Reservations are indicated by an orange header.

Important! Families with multiple pets will stack in the animal header section. Deactivated animals will be shown in a red header.

Quick Navigation:

You can quickly navigate to any piece of information for a family by expanding a header section and clicking on the type of content you want to view.

To expand a header, click the arrow icon to the right of header section. From there you can click on any item to immediately scroll to it.

  1. To access the layout editor, open the new details view from anywhere in Gingr by clicking on an owner name, animal name, or reservation.

  2. Click the Gear Icon that is located in the top right of the details page to access the list of available layouts.

Important! From this list, you can change the layout you are currently viewing, customize existing layouts, and create new ones based on your group permission settings.

  3. To create a new layout, click New and to edit an existing layout, click the pencil icon next to the layout that you want to edit.

Important! Layouts can only be created and edited on a desktop computer.

For example, one layout might look the same or different depending on whether or not you are viewing it on a Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile Phone.
