Overview: What are we talking about?

In Gingr, you can leverage integrated capacity settings to make sure that you do not get overbooked. You can group reservation types and services that require a shared capacity together using a feature called “capacity groups”.

Helpful Hints:
Before you begin.

  • Before you get started, ensure that you have set up both your reservation types, rates, and lodgings.

  • Take a moment to list out the different services that you need manage capacity for. For example, can you only have a certain number of boarding or daycare reservations checked in? Can you only have a certain number of services booked on a day?

Set it Up: Let's get started

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Capacity.

  2. Add a capacity group and configure the following fields:

    • Location: Select your location that the capacity group should apply at.

    • Name: Name the capacity group to describe the services that it limits capacity for.

    • Capacity: Enter the maximum capacity for this group.

    • Reservation Types: Select any reservation types that this capacity group should cover.

    • Services: Select any services that this capacity group should cover.

  3. Save and go back a page.

  4. Repeat for any other capacity groups that you need.

this how-to does not state whether or not if you use 'groups' and put all reservation types in there, for example a 'system wide reservations max group' and put all the types of resercvations in that group - how it maxes out. for example if i have a max of 25 for a day, and use system wide group and put in my half day, full day, and boarding in that group, does it accept reservations evenly across the board until 25 is satisfied or does it se a number for the day and when that 25 is reached , every type is considered full???
