Overview: What are we talking about?

In Gingr, you can easily track immunizations by uploading files and updating a pets records with expiration dates and notes. You can track as many or as few immunizations as you need and you can mark specific types of immunizations as required.

Helpful Hints: Before you begin.

  • Before you get started, think about what immunization records you want and need to collect at your facility. Determine which ones that pet parents will be required to provide records for and which ones will be optional.

Set it Up: Let's get started.

Step 1: Set up immunization types

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Immunizations.

  2. Add  button or Edit immunization types and configure the following fields:

    • Type: Enter the name of the immunization.

    • Species: List the species that the immunization should be an option for.

      • If you are missing a species, you can add more by going to left-hand navigation: Admin » Species.

    • Required: Select whether this immunization type should be required.

  3. Save and go back one page.

Step 2: Configure Immunization Related System-Wide Settings

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Immunizations

  2. Under System-Wide Settings, configure the following settings:

    • Use intl datepicker immunizations: If enabled, immunization dates will be entered using 3 drop-down menus to select month/day/year instead of a text box.

    • Require Valid Immunizations Checkin: turn this setting to yes if you want Gingr to block pets from checking in who have expired immunizations.

Step 3: Require Customers Update Records Before Requesting (optional)

If applicable, you can prevent customers from requesting reservations when their immunization records are expired.

  1. Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Reservation and Appointment Requests

  2. Under System-Wide Settings, configure the following setting:

    • Require Valid Immunizations Records before customers can request reservations: turn this setting to yes if you do not want to allow customers to submit reservation requests before first sending you updated immunization records.
