Overview: What are we talking about?
In Gingr, customers can request reservations and appointments from the customer portal. When requesting services, customers will be presented with a list of Booking Categories as configured in these Service Request Links. You can customize which of those three options appear depending on the services you offer.
Helpful Hints: Before you begin.
- Before you get started, ensure that you have first set up all of your reservation types. Think about which service types you offer that are appointment-based rather than reservation-based.
- Service Request Links can be made to direct to three places:
- New Reservations: used for multi-day or single-day reservations that are not appointment-based (e.g. boarding and daycare).
- New Appointments: used for single-day reservations that are appointment-based (e.g. grooming and training).
- Group Class Enrollment: used to show your group classes and to allow customers to enroll.
- New Reservations: used for multi-day or single-day reservations that are not appointment-based (e.g. boarding and daycare).
Set it Up: Let's get started.
- Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Portal Customization.
- Scroll down to the Request Links section.
- Click the Pencil icon to edit a link.
- Edit each of the service requests links that apply to your business and customize the following fields:
- Title: Enter a brief title to indicate what types of reservations they can request by clicking this link.
- Description: Enter a brief description of what will display below the Booking Category after one is selected (see screenshot below).
- Button Text: This field is not currently in use with the Customer Portal.
- Button URL: Enter the page that the link should take the customer to. You should not need to edit this field - your app is configured with these links by default.
- Only enter the portion of the URL that comes after “gingrapp.com”. For example, the link for the New Reservation page is https://www.businessname.portal.gingrapp.com/front_end/reservations/add so you would only enter “/front_end/reservations/add” into the button URL field.
- Additionally, "front_end/appointment" will open the New Appointment page and "/front_end/group_class_register" will open up options for Group Classes.
