Summary
The digital whiteboard needs a monitor, a streaming device, and an internet connection. This article lists what Gingr recommends.
What This Does
Televisions and Monitors
The digital whiteboard is made to stay on all the time. Choose a television that can stay on for long periods and handle the dust, dander, and debris at your facility. Gingr recommends a commercial-grade flat screen TV or monitor. Examples:
- Samsung: Visit their website.
- LG: Visit their website.
Commercial TVs often cost more up front but are more durable and have a better warranty. Many commercial displays are made to run 24/7. A consumer-grade TV that is always on has a higher risk of screen burn or failure. Do your own research to choose the best TV for you.
Streaming Devices
The digital whiteboard needs a device that can connect to the internet and show a web page. Because the whiteboard stays on, we recommend a device that can show a web page on its own, without a stream from a computer.
Gingr recommends and uses AirTame and Amazon FireTV Sticks. These devices can show a web page wirelessly.
- Airtame 2: Visit their website.
- Amazon FireTV Stick: Base model, 4K model.
Other options:
- Chromebox
- Chromecast (needs another device to stream to)
- Apple TV (needs another device to stream to)
Some smart TVs have Wi-Fi and a built-in webOS browser. These TVs may not need a separate device, but Gingr cannot promise how well they perform. The only requirement is that a web page can show on the television.
