Summary

You can apply a promotion to all items in the cart or to single line items. You can also create promotions in the cart for individual line items. If you apply one by mistake, you can remove it.

Before You Begin

Set up promotion types before you use them. Go to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Manage Promotions. See Set Up Promotions.

Steps

Apply a Promotion to the Whole Cart

1. Open the Promotions dropdown menu at the top of the Shopping Cart page.
2. Select the promotion you want to apply.

   

To allow promotions cart-wide, go to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » System-Wide Settings.

Apply a Promotion to a Single Line Item

1. Select the Promotion icon in the actions section of the line item you want to discount.
2. Select the promotion from the Promotions dropdown menu.

   

The user who does this needs the Can Apply Promotions permission in Left-hand Navigation: Reports and More » Groups.
