Sort Reports by Columns (How-To)

Article Details

Many reports in Gingr allow users to sort data directly within the report results. Sorting by columns makes it easier to review and analyze report data by organizing values alphabetically or numerically.

Sort by Columns

  1. Run a report to display results.

  2. Locate the column you want to sort by in the report output.

  3. Select the column header once to sort the results in ascending order.

  4. Select the same column header again to reverse the sort order.

Depending on the column type, reports may support:

  • Alphabetical sorting (A–Z and Z–A)

  • Numerical sorting (smallest to largest or largest to smallest)

  • Date-based sorting (earliest to latest or latest to earliest)

Not all columns are sortable, and available sorting behavior may vary by report.

Tips

  • Sorting applies only to the current report view and does not permanently change report settings.

  • Sorting does not change which records are included in the report - only the order in which they appear.

  • If a report includes location-based results, sorting occurs after location and date filters are applied.
