Reservation Types and Services Configuration Page Structure (Reference)

Article Details

Introduction

In Gingr, the Reservation Types and Services Configuration page is the main page for adding and managing reservations, appointments, and services that you offer at your business and through Gingr.

The Configuration Page is divided into several sections, each serving a different purpose. You'll find options to manage reservation types, services, add-ons, and more. All your offerings are organized in a side-by-side display of four columns, going from Booking Categories at the far left to Reservation Types to Additional Services to Service Options at the far right.

When opening the Configuration Page, the Booking Categories column will be displayed. Selecting a Category will open the second column, displaying Reservation Types in the selected Category. Each section functions similarly: Selecting an item within the section will cause the next section to display items that are within or applicable to the selected item, as well as buttons to Edit Settings or Rates for the selected item.

Booking Categories

The first section within the Configuration Page is the Booking Categories column. These are used to organize different types of reservations, such as grooming, daycare, boarding, and training. This categorization is particularly useful for businesses offering a variety of services, as it allows for better organization and simpler management within the Gingr system.

While any Reservation Type can be assigned to or moved between categories as needed, each category contains a base template for new Reservation Types. For example, Reservation Types created from the Daycare category are set to Charge By Day by default and are set as Single Day Bookings, among other settings. Once a new Reservation Type has been created, its settings can be customized from this base template to meet each business' needs.

Important:  These categories are not visible to the Pet Parents on the Customer Portal.

Disabled Types

The final category within the Booking Categories section contains all disabled Reservation Types, Services, and Service Options. Disabled types are not bookable by the business or by customers. However, any reservations, appointments, or services that are booked but not completed at the time of disabling will remain intact as scheduled.

Reservation Types

The second section within the Configuration Page is the Reservation Types column. These are the primary bookings offered by businesses, such as daycare, boarding, and grooming.

Reservation Types can be allowed at one or multiple locations and are booked from either the New Reservation page or the New Appointment page.

By default, this section will only display Reservation Types available for the current location. To display Types available at other locations within the Gingr app, select the grey "Load Types For Other Locations" button at the bottom of the column.

Allowed Services

The Allowed Services column makes up the third section of the Configuration Page. This column includes any services the business offers that can be added to the Reservation Type selected in the second column, such as a bath, one-on-one playtime, or training session.

Services can be allowed on more than one Reservation Type. Editing the settings of a Service will cause those settings to be changed for all Reservation Types for which the Service is allowed.

Services can be Unscheduled, Scheduled without a Specialist, or Scheduled with a Specialist as an Appointment-based Service. Unscheduled and Scheduled (non-specialist) Services can be assigned as Default Services. All bookings of the selected Reservation Type will have Default Services applied automatically when created or edited.

Service Options

The final section of the Configuration Page is the Service Options column. These are add-ons or modifiers than can be applied to Services, such as service upgrades or special charges.

Service Options modify the Service they are applied to and as such do not carry their own separate scheduling settings. They do, however, carry their own Rates, Tax settings, and Account Codes.

Service Options can be assigned as Default Options for the Service they modify.
