Date Range | Click "Last 30 Days" to view all options for Quick Selection (i.e. "Last 7 days", "Year to date", etc), or click the date range displayed to enter in a custom date range. |
Report Output
The Charges report contains four sets of data: Charges Summary, Charges by Account Code, Net Total Over Time, and Charges Total Breakdown. These correspond to the Charges section in the Revenue by Date Report, and give both an overview and detailed breakdown of all charges in Gingr during the given date range.
In Gingr, "charges" are considered revenue services rendered on invoices that were checked out within the date range of the report. This data includes taxable and tax-exempt items, tips, tax, and refunds processed on invoices.
Important: For subdomains where the names of the items or account codes match exactly across subdomains, then the data will be combined under the same name or account code.
Tip: You can right click on any section of the report to view the data as a table, rather than a graph.
Charges Summary
This section gives a quick overview of Charges by type. It specifically includes Reservation Types, Additional Services, Retail, Packages Sold, Open Line Items, Owner Purchases, Store Credit, Previous Balance, Coupons, and Others.
Tip: You can hover over each bar to view a tooltip of the data, or click it to update the view of the graph. Clicking again will reset the view.
Charges by Account Code
This section gives on overview of all account codes for selected subdomains and/or location(s). It is organized alphabetically by Account code name by default.
Net Total Over Time
This section displays a total per each day if the selected date range is 30 days or less. It displays the total per each month if the selected date range is greater than 30 days. It displays the total per each year if the selected date range if the range is greater than a year and a half.
Charges Total Breakdown
This section gives a more detailed overview of Charges by type. It specifically includes Reservation Types, Additional Services, Retail, Packages Sold, Open Line Items, Owner Purchases, Store Credit, Previous Balance, Coupons, and Others. Each sub-section can be expanded to view the full breakdown of items contributing to the totals by clicking the "+" sign next to the title of the sub-section.
Drill Down Data
Each section of the report contains options to further drill-down the data displayed via charts and graphs.
In the "Charges" section, you can click any of the Charges category types such as "Reservation Types", "Additional Services", "Retail", etc. When you click a category name, the accompanying sections will update to display related data. You can click the category name again to reset the graphs and display all data, or you can also right-click the graph and select "Clear Selection".
In the "Account Codes" section, to update the order of account codes, click the three dots showing next to this section and choose "Sort axis". From here you can opt to sort by either amount or account code name, as well as ascending or descending order. This may be helpful if you are trying to view your highest-earning account codes at the top of the graph.
In the "Net Total Over Time" section, you can hover over each data point to view a more detailed breakdown. Depending on the length of the selected date range, this may display by day, month, or year.
For the "Charges Total Breakdown" section, each category can be expanded to view the full breakdown of items contributing to the totals by clicking the "+" sign next to the title of the sub-section. This will then display individual item types that contribute to the category's total revenue.
Important: For subdomains where the names of the items or account codes match exactly across subdomains, then the data will be combined under the same name or account code.
Additionally, each section also has an option to view the data in table format. To access this, click the three dots showing next to the section and choose "Show as a Table". This will display the data in an easy-to-read table on a new page.
Export the Report
Each section of the report can be exported to Excel or .CSV. To export the data, first, generate the report using your desired parameters. Then click the three dots showing next to the section you would like to export and choose "Export Data".
You will then see a popup asking which type of export you would like:
-
Data with Current Layout: This option is only available for table and matric visuals, and is a default option shown by Microsoft BI. At this time, none of the report outputs match this parameter.
-
Summarized Data: This option exports the data as it is shown on the report, as a high-level overview of totals.
- Underlying Data: This option exports the underlying data that contribute to the totals displayed on the report. At this time, none of the report outputs match this parameter.
Data can then be viewed in Excel, Pages, Google Sheets, etc.
