Understanding the Evaluation Results Icon (Reference)

Introduction

The Evaluation Results Icon in Gingr provides staff with a quick, color-coded view of a pet’s evaluation status. The icon helps staff make booking decisions at a glance and ensures pet parents see accurate information in the Customer Portal.

Color Logic

Each icon color represents the pet’s current evaluation status:

  • Gray – The pet has never been evaluated.

  • Green – The pet has passed all required evaluation categories.

  • Orange – The pet has partially passed (some categories passed, some not yet).

  • Red – The pet has completed an evaluation but has not passed any categories.

Icon Behavior 

Business Portal (Staff View)

Evaluation Results Records: An "Evaluation Results Records" setting under Admin > Reservation & Service Configurations > Evaluation Settings enables administrators to define how evaluation results are recorded and shared across their organization:

  • Option 1: Save evaluation results by location by default - Evaluation results are tied only to the location where they are recorded.
    • The "Save Results to All Locations" checkbox displays and is unchecked by default.
    • The evaluation icon reflects results from the current location only.
  • Option 2: Save evaluation results to all locations by default - Evaluation results are saved across all locations unless otherwise deselected.
    • The "Save Results to All Locations" checkbox displays and is checked by default.
    • The evaluation icon reflects results from the current location only.
  • Option 3: Always save results to all locations automatically - Evaluation results are saved system-wide automatically for consistent handling of pets across all locations.
    • The "Save Results to All Locations" checkbox is hidden, since results always apply to every location.
    • The evaluation icon displays the same result across all locations.

Pet Profile: Displays in the 'Evaluation Results' section, with detailed status available through the pass/fail modal.

Throughout Gingr: The icon appears next to the pet’s name in dashboards, reservations, and lists. This gives staff quick insight during booking and check-in.

Interactive: Staff can click the icon (with permissions enabled) to open the pass/fail modal and update results directly.

Customer Portal (Pet Parent View)

Homepage: Icons appear on pet cards, showing whether an evaluation is required or has been passed.

Booking Flow: Categories that require an evaluation display a “Requires Evaluation” badge until the pet passes.

Hidden Categories: Once a pet passes all required evaluations for a category, the Evaluation category is removed from view to prevent confusion.

Redirect Logic: If a booking is attempted without a passed evaluation, the system redirects the customer to book the evaluation first. 

Additional Information

Icons update in real time when staff save results from the Pet Profile or Shopping Cart.

Pet parents only see badges/icons that affect booking; staff have full visibility and editing access (if permitted).
