Gingr does not currently allow tax exemption, so you will need to utilize a workaround for this.
Before You Begin
- If you are unsure of your local sales tax amounts or laws, please reach out to your local government resources or financial advisors.
Workaround: Create a Tax Exemption
- Create a Tax Exempt Payment Method in Admin » Payment Methods » + Add Payment Method.
- Settings should not have a processor.
- The zero payment will be No.
- Settings should not have a processor.
- Check the transaction out using a split payment.
- Charge the Subtotal (charges without tax) to whichever payment method they are using.
- Apply a payment for the tax charged using the Tax Exempt payment method.
- To pay your sales taxes, you will subtract the Tax Exempt payment method totals from the other tax totals. That will give you the amount that you owe for taxes.
