Enable Time Clock (How-To)

Article Details

In Gingr, your staff can clock in and out. Time punches using the time clock are authenticated by having the employee enter their password and (optionally) taking a photo of them the moment they check in. Time clock data can also be accessed from the time clock report where you can review timecards and easily see if someone worked longer than their scheduled shift.

While the Time Clock feature is available at no additional cost, if you use Gingr's Employee Scheduling feature to manage your employee schedules, users can clock into a specific team when punching in.

Before You Begin

  • The ability to compare time punches with scheduled shifts requires the employee scheduling add-on to be enabled in your app. To sign up for employee scheduling for $15/month, go to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Manage Gingr Subscription and select Employee Scheduling.

    • Allow Time Clock Cross Days: Set to yes if you want to allow employees to remain clocked in across calendar dates (overnight).

    • Only Allow Time Clock at This IP: Optionally enter your facility’s IP address to ensure that employees can only clock in or out when at your facility and connected to the facility’s WiFi network.

Tip: To find out what your IP address is, simply Google “What is my IP address” when connected to your facility’s WiFi network and input the result that Google gives you at the top of the page.
