This article will guide you through how to enable the Only allow designated devices to clock in system-wide setting for your employees. By the end of this section, you will have an understanding of the function of this employee time clock feature.
Before You Begin
There is one user permission associated with the trusted devices setting. It can be enabled for the admin user group at Left-hand Navigation: Reports & More » Groups.

Can enter trusted devices into time clock mode: this permission setting allows users to login on a trusted device and enter the time clock mode, via the Gingr Notifications App.
Enable Trusted Devices
Notice: When enabling the trusted devices setting, this will affect all locations in your Gingr app.
- Navigate to Left-hand Navigation: Admin » Time Clock.

Set Only allow designated devices to clock in to yes/on.
- With this setting enabled, an Admin user will be required to login to the Gingr Notifications App in order to enter that specific device into time clock mode, thus allowing any employee to clock in or out on that device. This also removes the ability to use the time clock from any device using Gingr on a web browser and means that employees will be required to clock in or out on a trusted device.
- With this setting disabled, this allows users to effectively clock in or out from any device, including using Gingr through a web browser OR using the Gingr Notifications App on a trusted device.
- With this setting enabled, an Admin user will be required to login to the Gingr Notifications App in order to enter that specific device into time clock mode, thus allowing any employee to clock in or out on that device. This also removes the ability to use the time clock from any device using Gingr on a web browser and means that employees will be required to clock in or out on a trusted device.
