Introduction

This article goes over tips and tricks for how to set up general services that are appointment-based or scheduled in Gingr. This guide can be helpful for grooming services, training, or any other services you wish to schedule.

General Service Set Up Best Practices

  •  Name similar items together using the labels.

    • Service Category Options: Activity, Add On, Play Packages, Spa, Training, Treats, Fee, etc.

    • Examples:

      • Grooming Services

        • Spa | Bath

        • Spa | Full Service

        • Spa | Full Service | Small | 0-20lbs

        • Spa | A La Carte

      • Activity Items

        • Play Package | Fetch

        • Play Package | Snuggle Time

      • Treats

        • Treat | Kong

        • Treat | Pupsicle

      • Fees (recommended to be set to Business-Only)

        • Fee | Late Checkout

        • Fee | Damages

        • Fee | In Heat

  • Allowed services that have no base rate of their own and house service options (i.e. A la Carte, treats, etc.) should be set to ‘variable pricing’ on the portal by setting the base rate to $0 and turning on the "automatically charge last checked out service price?" setting.

Scheduled Services That Are Not Appointment-based

  • Frequency options should all be enabled

  • Default duration/interval: 15 minutes & start time: 7AM

  • For ‘Exit Baths’, that are scheduled (not appointment based) the frequency options should be Last Day, Day Before Last Day, and Once.

Appointment-Based Services

  • Duration and Interval – typically set to 60 and 60 unless otherwise needed. It is recommended to keep the duration and interval the same in order to avoid possible overbooking.

  • Varied-priced services should always have ‘remember last price’ and ‘remember last duration’ settings enabled

  • If a pricing sheet is available, add the pricing info as a table in the description, stating: "Prices vary based on pet weight, size, and coat type” and a table title for the price should read “Starting Price”.

Service Options

  • Specific labels are needed if you have different price points or need a distinguishing factor.

    • Examples:

      • Nail Trim

      • Nail Trim | Add On

      • De-Matting Fee | Small

      • De-Matting Fee | Med

  • Unless otherwise necessary, leave the commission setting enabled.
