Article Details
Merchants using Clover devices can personalize the look and feel of their terminals by updating splash screen colors and uploading custom images or logos. This article outlines how to submit a customization request through your CardPointe portal.
Overview
Clover terminals support a range of visual customizations, including background colors, font colors, and branded logos. These changes can help align your devices with your business branding.
You can request these changes by submitting a support ticket in your CardPointe portal. Read on for details about the available customization options, image requirements, and step-by-step submission instructions.
Available Customization Options
Below is a list of the customizable elements available for Clover terminals:
First Color
Second Color
Third Color
Font Color
Back Button Color
Back Button Font Color
Splash Screen Image (Logo)
Choosing Colors (Hex Codes)
Clover requires color selections to be provided as hex color codes. A hex code is a simple way to represent a color in a format your Clover device can recognize (e.g., #ABC123).
To find and select your colors:
Visit htmlcolorcodes.com and use the color picker tool.
Copy and paste your desired hex code(s) into your request.
Important Color Guidelines
To ensure visibility and usability on your device:
Font Color should not match the First, Second, or Third Colors.
Back Button Color should not match the First Color.
Back Button Font Color should not be the same as the Back Button Color.
These guidelines help prevent issues where text or buttons become unreadable.
Image Requirements
If you choose to upload a logo or background image instead of changing colors, be sure to follow these image guidelines:
Image sizes must meet the specifications for your exact Clover model (Mini, Flex, etc.).
Incorrect sizing will result in CardConnect requesting new files.
Tip: Use free tools like Canva to resize or edit images to meet required dimensions.

Helpful Hints:
Image Requirements Matter: CardConnect is very specific about image sizes. If your submitted images do not match the required dimensions for your device type, they will request new files. Use a tool like Canva to adjust images as needed before submission.
Avoid Color Conflicts: We've seen issues where the Back Button Color and Back Button Font Color were set to the same value - making the button text unreadable. To avoid this, follow the best practices outlined above.
Logo-Only? That Works Too! You don’t have to customize every element. If you prefer, you can skip color selections and simply upload your logo to personalize your Clover device.
