Transition from “Workaround” Packages to Service-Based Packages (How-To)

Article Details

Previously, packages for additional services required “workaround” packages to deliver additional services outside of standard offerings. Now, with our new service-based packages, you can request and set up those additional services directly. No workarounds needed.

This transition brings more transparency, easier setup, and better alignment with your business's specific needs. If you're currently using a workaround package, we’ll guide you through moving to the appropriate service-based package to ensure a smooth transition.

Before You Begin

Credit Card Processing (CCP) is only required if you want to:

  • Sell packages or subscriptions through the Customer Portal, or

  • Enable automated subscription billing.

For standard, business-side packages created and sold directly in the Business Portal, CCP is not required.

You do not need to create brand-new packages to transition to the service-based model. Existing “workaround” packages can be edited and updated instead.

Edit "Workaround" Packages to Service-Based Packages

Important:  Editing the existing package will update past invoices as well as financial reports retroactively. This edit will also update all customer accounts who have purchased this package. It will not be required to request customers to purchase the package again after making this adjustment.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Packages & Subscriptions.

  2. Locate the package currently configured for the additional service using a "workaround" reservation type. Select the black pencil icon beside the package to edit it's configuration settings.

  3. Scroll down to the middle of the pop-up window to see the option to select Service Type. This is where you may select the additional service you'd like to assign to this package type.

  4. Once you've selected the additional service, you'll want to save the changes at the bottom of the pop-up window.
