Most internet browsers offer a way to fill out forms automatically. This can be a real time-saver in a lot of circumstances. However, when editing owner or animal profiles in Gingr this can be a real pain!
The following info provides steps for the 3 most common web browsers on how to clear and/or disable autofill.
Before You Begin
Before moving forward ensure that you have your Gingr login info. If you cannot remember the password to access the account you will need to reset the password from the login screen.
Google Chrome
In Google Chrome, you will want to not only turn off autofill data but also clear it. Instructions are listed below.
Turn Off Autofill in Chrome:
- Click the Chrome menu icon. (Three lines at the top right of the screen.)
- Click on Settings.
- At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced Settings.
- In the Passwords and Forms section, uncheck Enable Autofill to fill out web forms in a single click.
Clear Autofill Data in Chrome
Notice: This will clear other passwords you may have stored for other sites
- Click the Chrome menu icon. (Three lines at the top right of the screen.)
- Click on Tools.
- Select Clear browsing data.
- At the top, choose the beginning of time option to clear all saved data.
- Make sure that the Clear saved Autofill form data option is checked.
- Click Clear browsing data.
This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear your browsing history.
Firefox
In Firefox, you will want to not only turn off autofill data but also clear it.
Turn off Autofill in Firefox
- Click on the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at the top right of the screen.)
- Click on Preferences.
- Choose Privacy.
- In the History section choose Firefox will: Use custom settings for history.
- Uncheck Remember search and form history.
- Click OK.
Clear Autofill Data in Firefox
Notice: This will clear other passwords you may have stored for other sites.
- Click on the Firefox menu icon. (Three lines at the top right of the screen.)
- Click on History.
- Click on Clear recent History.
- In the Time Range to Clear drop-down, choose Everything.
- Click on the arrow next to Details to display a list of items to clear.
- Make sure Form & Search History is checked.
- Click Clear Now.
This action may take some time to complete, depending on how often you clear your browsing history.
Safari
In Safari, you will want to not only turn off autofill data, but also clear it.
Turn off Autofill in Safari
- Click on the Safari menu. (The word Safari at the top of the screen.)
- Click on Preferences.
- Choose AutoFill.
- Uncheck User name and passwords.
- Click Done.
Clear Autofill Data in Safari
- Click on the Safari menu. (The word Safari at the top of the screen.)
- Click on Preferences.
- Choose AutoFill.
- Next to user name and passwords click Edit.
- Put in your computer password.
- Search for Gingr.
- Click on each Gingr entry.
- Click Remove for each Gingr entry.
Important: Google Chrome is the only supported browser for accessing your Gingr app.
