Memberships can be configured to include various benefits, such as discounts, credits, or special pricing. This article outlines how to set membership benefits, define billing schedules, and configure usage limits.

Before You Begin

Membership benefits must be configured for each membership type to ensure pet parents receive the appropriate discounts or credits. Ensure you have administrative access or have been assigned the Manage Memberships permission.

Set Membership Benefits

Benefits Settings:

Configure the Renewal Cycle

The renewal cycle determines how frequently a member is charged for their membership:

• • Weekly: Membership renews on the same day of the week every week.
  • Monthly: Membership renews on the same date of the month every month.
  • Annually: Membership renews on the same date of the year every year.

Select the Billing Schedule

Define when the membership is billed based on the chosen renewal cycle:

• • Day of Week: For weekly memberships, select the specific day of the week (e.g., Monday, Tuesday).

  • Day of Month: For monthly memberships, choose between the 1st or 15th of each month.

  • Day of Year: For annual memberships, select the 1st of January, April, July, or October.

  • Date: For any renewal cycle, select this option to bill members on their enrollment date.

Configure Expiration of Benefits

Determine how and when membership benefits expire:

• • • On Renewal: Benefits from the previous cycle expire immediately upon renewal.
  •  
    • After # of Days: Benefits remain active for a specified number of calendar days after purchase. Enter the number of days in the provided field.
      • Example: Weekly membership benefits valid for 10 days should be configured as "After # of Days" with a value of 10.

Member Pricing Benefits:

Member pricing benefits include discounts and special rates for services or retail items. Configure these benefits as follows:

• Add a New Pricing Benefit
  • Click +Add Pricing Benefit.

• • • Name the benefit (e.g., "Free Nail Trim"). This name will display on invoices when applied.

• Configure Discount Amount

• • Set the discount as either a dollar amount or a percentage.

• Set Number of Uses Per Cycle
  • By default, benefits have unlimited uses (infinite).

• • To limit the number of uses per cycle, enter a specific quantity (e.g., "2 nail trims per month").

• Add a Benefit Description
  • Provide a brief description that will display when enrolling a pet parent in the membership.
    
    

• Define Items Covered by the Benefit
  • Enable the benefits you'd like the adjusted pricing to apply to. 
    Benefits can be applied to the following:
    • Reservation Types

• • • Package Types

• • • Open Line Items

• • • Add-on Service Types

• • • Retail Items

Reservation Credit Benefits:

Credits are specific to reservation types, allowing members to use a certain number of credits per cycle.

• Add a New Credit Benefit
  • Click +Add Credit Benefit.

• • Select the reservation type (e.g., daycare, grooming).
    
    

• Set the Number of Credits Per Cycle
  • Credits are unlimited (infinite) by default.

• • To limit credits, enter the specific quantity (e.g., "3 daycare days per week").
