This article provides step-by-step instructions for converting a pet parent's existing Recurring Package Subscription to the new Memberships feature in Gingr. Since existing subscriptions cannot be converted automatically, this process must be done manually by enrolling the pet parent in a new membership and canceling their existing subscription.

Before You Begin

Permissions

Users must have the Can Sell Memberships and Can Assign Package Credits permissions enabled to complete this process.

Set Up Membership Offerings

• Before enrolling a pet parent in a membership, you must configure your Memberships in Gingr.
• Follow the steps in Set Up New Memberships (How-To) to create the correct membership offerings.

Convert a Recurring Subscription to a Membership

1. Enroll the Pet Parent in a New Membership
   
   
   • Navigate to the Owner Profile of the pet parent.
   • Select the Memberships tab.
   • Click the '+ Buy Membership' button to open the enrollment page.
   • Select the appropriate Membership Plan and enter any required details.

   Important: A signature must be obtained during this process for the Membership Terms and Conditions to proceed.

   • Complete the enrollment. See Membership Enrollment (Topic Outline) for more details on this process. 
     
     
2.  Cancel the existing Package Subscription 
   
   
   • On the Pet Parent Profile, go to locate the active subscription that needs to be canceled under the Package Subscriptions section.
   • Using the Actions dropdown menu, select "X Cancel Subscription".
     
     
     
     
   • Confirm cancellation in the pop-up window. See Cancel Package Subscriptions (How-To) for more details.
     
     

 Tip:  If necessary, the last package subscription can be fully or partially refunded. For more information on refunds, check out Refund a Retail Item, Package, or Service.
