Membership Enrollment (Topic Outline)

Article Details

Gingr allows businesses to streamline recurring memberships for pet parents. Memberships can include various benefits such as discounts, credits, and special pricing. When a customer is enrolled in a membership, the customer’s credit card is automatically charged according to the configured billing schedule, and the associated benefits are applied to their account.

Pet parents can also self-enroll in memberships through the Customer Portal and the Gingr for Pet Parents mobile app when enabled.

  • The system-wide toggle in Admin > Portal Customization must be enabled.

  • Each membership must also be configured as Enabled on Pet Parent Portal in the Membership setup module.

    • When both settings are active, pet parents will see a Shop Memberships tile under the Shop tab of the Customer Portal, where they can view membership details, select a billing start date, add or update payment methods, review benefits, and complete enrollment.

Important: To use this feature, businesses must have Gingr’s integrated credit card processing enabled through CardConnect or Gingr Payments. For additional details, please review our article: Differences Between Gingr Payments and CardConnect.

Before You Begin

  • Memberships are charged and renewed based on the configured billing schedule (weekly, monthly, or annual).
  • Ensure the membership's associated benefits and pricing rules are correctly configured to avoid unexpected charges or discounts.
  • Membership special pricing benefits apply automatically during online purchases of packages or retail. Credit benefits (such as daycare or service credits) are only applied at the time of reservation checkout by staff.
  • Updating a customer’s card on file will apply to all future renewal payments for active memberships.
  • If a membership has a $0 rate, businesses may configure whether an agreement signature collection is required or optional. This setting is found in the Financial tab of the Membership setup module and is locked once a customer is enrolled.
  • Refunding a membership payment does not automatically cancel the enrollment. For information about cancellations, refer to the article: Cancel Memberships from Owner Profile
