I want to continue using the existing Packages and Subscriptions feature instead of using the new Memberships feature. Am I required to use the new Memberships feature?
- Adopting the new Memberships feature is entirely optional. However, it's important to note that Memberships offer unique features and functionalities that are not available with Packages and Subscriptions. Therefore, utilizing Memberships could provide significant advantages for your business compared to relying solely on Packages or Subscriptions.
I do not want to capture acknowledgment of Terms and Conditions when enrolling a pet parent in a Membership. Can we turn off this feature?
- Capturing acknowledgment of the Terms and Conditions is generally required. However, for $0 memberships, you have the option to make signature collection optional.
- This setting is controlled on the Financial tab of the Membership wizard.
- If disabled, agreements can still be sent via SMS or displayed on a signature tablet for review, but a signature will not be required to enroll.
- For any membership with a rate greater than $0, signatures remain required due to credit card processing compliance for auto-recurring charges.
I want to pause a Membership for a specific pet parent. How do I do that?
- It is not possible to pause Memberships. To stop automatic membership payments, you must cancel the Membership.
I want pet parents to enroll in Memberships on their own. How do I set that up?
- Pet parents can enroll in memberships directly through the Customer Portal (and Gingr for Pet Parents app).
- Businesses must enable Allow Membership Purchases from the Portal in Admin > Portal Customization.
- Each membership must also be individually configured in the Membership setup module to be “Enabled On Pet Parent Portal”.
- Pet parents will see a Shop Memberships tile in the Shop tab of the Customer Portal where they can view details, select a billing start date, add/update a payment method, review the membership benefits, and sign agreements.
Do pet parents receive their membership discounts online?
- Membership special pricing benefits apply automatically in the cart when pet parents shop for packages or retail online through the Customer Portal or the Gingr for Pet Parents app. Discounts now apply seamlessly, just as they do in the Business Portal.
- Note: Membership credit benefits (such as day care credits or service credits) are not applied during online checkout. These credits are applied by the business at the time of reservation checkout. Once checkout is completed, the invoice will display the remaining credits available for the customer.
Where can I find membership agreements once signed?
- Signed agreements are stored in both the Business Portal and the Customer Portal for easy access:

Business Portal: Navigate to the Pet Parent Profile > Agreements tab to view all signed agreements for that owner.

Customer Portal: Pet parents can access agreements under the Account tab > Waivers & Agreements. Agreements are separated into Unsigned and Signed tabs for clarity.
